There is a picture of a baguette that I would like to use in a menu design for a sandwich shop. What is the worst that could happen? Should I use the image?|||If it doesn't say free to use, it's copyright infringement.

Ron|||Technically, it's copyright infringement. If it is a very generic baguette, no one is likely to complain. If they do, the first action would probably be an informal request for you to cease and desist form using the image. If you continued to use it, a copyright infringement case could be started. Unless the image is a major business symbol for the owner, the court would likely issue a formal cease and desist order. Your major cost would probably legal costs which could run to many thousands - much more than your shop is worth.|||Probably a stock image anyways. I seriously doubt anyone would sue you over the use of their baguette picture. I design websites and I grab pics from google images all the time. If you are worried then go to a stock photo cite and buy an image for like 3 dollars.

etc.|||You can go and search for images on google---> go to advanced options----> Usage Rites ----> you might wnna go with labled for commericial use and u can modify it. But theres like 4 diffrent options.|||The person who owns the image could go to your shop.|||Um, that's committing a crime. But I'd say the worst would be you got your butt sued off for lots and lots of money. ; )

-Scott|||the worst might be you get sued for plagiarism which would really suck if they want to throw in a fine|||if you plan on making your site famous with like a 1000+ a week don't use a copyrighted pic.
