"Could someone please tell me what a sample sale is?" would certainly have worked. As would any number of other, polite sentences including the words "please" or "thank you" and not including words like "hell", "retard", "stupid", or whatever it was you had where those asterisks appear. Perhaps if you think Google isn't too "stupid" or "retarded", you might Google the phrase and find out for yourself what it is.
